#1 Good intention

The word ‘later’ is acceptable. It’s because it shows a person has a good intention. Later means I can’t do it right now but I will, I will later. This makes you feel good, right? Well, you know you’re not saying no to that task or to a life goal. It sounds to you like you are a good person with a good intention. Well, if you just leave it for later, everything will be all right. Ask yourself later means when?

#2 Subtlety

When you know you have something important to do, a little voice can tell you to wait and do it later. It’s your choice—do it now or later. Can you see how the word ‘later’ shows up with subtlety? Because it’s subtle, it can catch you and me off guard if we are not careful. Notice it doesn’t come against you with a hammer—it shows up as a wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing.

The word ‘later’ doesn’t tell you what can happen if you don’t notice what it’s doing to your life. You may not even know that what you put off again and again can affect you. Well, what a person is not doing today may even appear to be so insignificant. However, some consequences can be considerable. Sometimes there are viable reasons but it’s important to look into what you delay and why you have excuses.

#4  Stealing off you

Open your eyes. Determine when you need to act and what you need to do. If not, the word ‘later’ is as dangerous as it can steal opportunities off you. That’s why with a vision for your life, when the right opportunities appear, it will be easier to determine if they apply to your dreams and goals. 

#5 Things that come up

Sometimes, things come up when you least expect them. They are from people in your circle, tasks or even good opportunities that appear from nowhere. There are days when too many urgent tasks will appear. If you have a plan for your day or life, you’ll be able to navigate around those urgent disruptions. This doesn’t mean no matter who needs help or what happens, you close your eyes and attend to your task and that’s all matters. However, you need to be aware.  Do not let the urgent and of lesser importance mess up your schedule. Yet, everything has a place and time though.  

#6 The hidden purpose of ‘later’

You need to have an awareness of what the word ‘later’ can do. You will then be able to be proactive to protect your border. Why it’s necessary to watch?

‘Later’can steal your time. It can allow you to put off important things.

#7 Why steal?

Anyone who steals something has a purpose right? The reason the word ‘later’ is there is because it tries to make you drift away from not only important tasks but even your life’s assignment. Remember, ‘later’ can’t do any of these to you unless you permit it to.

Dressed as a sheep, this enemy can deceive you only if you grant it the opportunity. Well, it’s important to notice its presence when it shows up. Be armed, ready to defeat this little word ‘later’. Don’t permit it to bring negative consequences to your life. You want to impact others, so pay attention to what matters the most. 

Use your time to do what you believe will make an impact.
